Love It! - The conversation starter

I didn’t get it. At DMY Berlin ‘11 there was some kind of bowlingalley with witty designed little card figurines that where lying down on the floor. At the start of the ally was placed a cube with text projected on it and next to the track was a man standing proud as a peacock but shy as a mouse. I asked if I could take some pictures (normally a great way to start a conversation with shy designers) he just said: ‘Yes’ and I did so..
Back in Holland I took the opportunity to check out the meaning of the whole deal and found out that it is just lovely. The little card man and women are conversation starters and the aim of the project is to share a love for design with both the audience and participants of the DMY festival. Love it (< the name of the project) is a well designed parlour game by Jerzy Tchórzewski. It’s an invitation for interaction in analogue and digital form. While the project makes use of QR codes, a multimedia projection and a network application, it also encourages the most approachable form of contact: by playing cards.
